Kibmist, working alongside county agricultural offices and partner organizations, launched a soil restoration programme targeting degraded agricultural land across 3 LREB counties.
Programme activities included:
- •Soil health assessments across 50 farms
- •Biochar application demonstrations on degraded plots
- •Tree seedling distribution and agroforestry planning
- •Erosion control and water conservation techniques
- •Farmer-managed natural regeneration (FMNR) training
Over 6,073 hectares of land have been identified for restoration activities. The programme distributed 10,000 tree seedlings and demonstrated biochar-enhanced soil management on 20 pilot farms.
